The Discover Our Shared Heritage Travel Itinerary Series on National Park Service

The National Main Street Center is a program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.  It serves as the nation's clearinghouse for information, technical assistance, research and advocacy on preservation-based commercial district revitalization. 

The North Carolina State Historic Preservation Office assists private citizens, private institutions, local governments, and agencies of state and federal government in the identification, evaluation, protection, and enhancement of properties significant in North Carolina history and archaeology. 

Preservation North Carolina is a private, non-profit statewide organization whose mission is to protect and promote buildings, sites, and landscapes important to the diverse heritage of North Carolina. The Shelby Historic Foundation works closely with PNC when listing a historic home or property. 

The North Carolina Downtown Development Association (NCDDA) is a non-profit membership organization made up of towns, downtown development organizations, chambers of commerce, and private professionals.
