The North Carolina State Historic Preservation Office assists private citizens, private institutions, local governments, and agencies of state and federal government in the identification, evaluation, protection, and enhancement of properties significant in North Carolina history and archaeology.

Preservation North Carolina (PNC) is a private, non-profit statewide organization whose mission is to protect and promote buildings, sites, and landscapes important to the diverse heritage of North Carolina. We work closely with PNC when listing a historic home or property. 

The North Carolina Downtown Development Association (NCDDA) is a non-profit membership organization made up of towns, downtown development organizations, chambers of commerce, and private professionals. 

A service of the NC Department of Cultural Resources, the mission of the North Carolina Office of Archives and History is to collect, preserve, and utilize the state's historic resources so that present and future residents may better understand their history.
