Preservation NC Southwestern Office in Shelby
The newest office of Preservation NC (PNC) is in Shelby. This is the sixth satellite office to open under the direction of Myrick Howard, president of the organization. Opening an office in this location helps PNC to target historic properties more effectively in the western region of the state that are in jeopardy of being lost. Since 1977 PNC has worked tirelessly to save more than 500 historic properties throughout the state of North Carolina. Since this time, several satellite offices have been opened around the state to continue the mission of historic preservation.
PNC is currently raising the monies deemed necessary by its board of directors to open the much-needed office. As of mid-November, the organization has raised more than $18,000 of its $40,000 goal for this office. Members of the staff will continue to seek supporters in this region of the state to help reach its goal.
The Banker's House estate was bequeathed to PNC by Mrs. Nancy Blanton and is under the management of PNC as a stewardship property. As a stewardship property, it will be preserved during its existence.
PNC’s office locations are Burlington, Edenton, Hillsborough, Wilmington, and Winston-Salem. Currently, the Winston-Salem office is servicing the entire western region of the state.
